STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS
Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
July 10, 1937.
Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended July 7, which included only five business days, aggregated $9,-414,000,000,
or about the same as the total reported for the preceding week and 11 percent above
the total for the corresponding week of last year, which also included only five
business days.

BANK DEBITS

Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which, a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to #8,695,000,000, compared with $8,709,000,000
the preceding week and $7,797,000,000 the week prided July 8 of last year.
