BANK DEBITS
Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ending January 13 , aggregated $8,174,000,000,
or 22 per cent below the total reported for the preceding week, which included but
five business days and 23 per cent below the total for the corresponding week of
last year.
Aggregate debits for the lUl centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 1919 amounted to $7,600,000,000, as compared with
$9,813,000,000 the preceding week and $9 ,S60,0:0,000 the week ending January lU
of last year.
