BANK DEBITS Jtebit# to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by banks in leading cities for the week ending February 4, aggregated $11,751,000 000 or S per cent above the total of $10,S73»000,000 reported for the preceding week. The principal increases are as follows: New York 0ity$499',000,000, San Francisco $51,000,000, St, Louis $34,000,000, Boston and Chicago $30,000,000 each, and Philadelphia $29,000,000. The largest decline, $16,000,000, was reported for Detroit. As compared with the week ending February 6, 1924, debits for the week under review show an increase of $1,346,000,000 or 12.9 per cent, most of the leading centers participating in the increase. New York Oity reports a gain of $814,000,000. Other large increases are as follows: Chicago, $199,000,000; San Francisco and Pittsburgh $42,000,000, eaoh, Boston $41,000,000, Philadelphia $37,000,000, St, Louis $29,000,000 and Minneapolis $27,000,000. Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published, weekly since January, 1919, aggregated $11,125,963,000 as compared with $10,235,766,000 for the preoeding week and $9,316,622,000 for the week ending Fsbruary 6, 1924. Debits to individual accounts were reported to the Federal Beserve Board for banks in 255 centers, of which 249 are included in the summary by Federal reserve districts.
