Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the '';eeklending February 3, aggregated £3,336,000,000,
or 19 per cent above the total reported for the preceding week and 24 per cent
below the total for the corresponding wee]* of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly since January 1919 amounted to about * 7 , S4l,000, 000, as compared with
$6 ,537 ,000,000 the preceding week and ^ 10, 367, 000,000 the week ending February 4
of last year.
