Debits to individual', accounts, as reported by ‘banks in leading cities for
the week ended February 19, aggregated $8,580,000,000, or 27 percent above the total
reported for the preceding week, which included only five business days m many of
the reporting-.centers, and 13 percent above the total for the corresponding wee*
of last year.
Aggregate debits for the lUl cities for which a separate totaihasbeenrnaintained since January 1919 amounted to $7,976,000,000, compared with $6,249,000,000
the preceding week and $7,056,000,000 the week ended February 20 of last year.
