BANK DEBITS Debits to individual accounts reported by banks in leading financial centers for the week ending February 6 , 1924, totaled. $10,399,000,000, or $880,000,000 more than the tota l reported for the preceding week. New York City reports an increase of $597,000,000, Boston an increase of $48,000,000 and Cleveland an increase of $37, 000, 000. As compared with the corresponding period of la st year, debits for the week under review show an increase of $399,000,000. The principal increases reported over the figures for 1923 are: New York - $336,000,000; Los Angeles ip38»COO,OCO, and Philadelphia — $30,000,000. Chicago reports a decrease of $80,000,000, Pittsburgh - a decrease of $6 l , 000,000 and St* Paul and Omaha decreases of $15,000,000 and. $ 13 , 000, 000, respectively* Aggregate debits for 141 centers for which figures have been published weekly since January, 1919, were about $9,816,000,000 as compared with $8 ,98-3.955,000 for the preceding week and $9)440,202,000 for the week end ini' February 7, 1923* Debits to individual accounts were reported to the Federal Reserve Board for banks in 255 centers, of which 245 are included in the summary by Federal Reserve d is t r i c t s .
