The week under review contained only five business days inasmuch as November 29, Thanksgiving Day, was observed as a holiday throughout the countryThis was largely offset, however, by the usual heavy end*-of-month payments. New York City reports a decline of $109,000,00, Chicago - a decline of $29,000,000, and Detroit - a decline of $23,000,000. New Orleans reports an increase of $38,000,000 and Baltimore an .increase of $1 4 ,COO,000. As compared, with the corresponding period in 1922, debits fcr the week under review show an increase of $385,000,000 or 4 per cent. Increases are shown for most of the larger centers. New York City shows an increase of $137,000,000, Los Angeles$4l,000,0C0, San Francisco - $37,000,000, Chicago - $31,000,000, and New Orleans $21,OCX), COO. The largest decrease, $34,000,000, was reported by Pittsburgh. Debits to individual accounts were reported to the Federal Reserve Board for banks in 250 centers, of which 24l are included in the summary by Federal reserve districts.
