BANK DEBITS.

•Rantr debits for the week ending November 29 were $2 ,6 8 6 ,0 0 0 ,0 0 0 , or about
Smaller figures were reported for
most of the leading centers, including New York, Boston, Detroit and New Orleans,
A number of other centers, however, report larger totals than the week before, the
largest increase being shown for San Francisco,

$462 ,000,000 less than for the preceding week.

For the corresponding week in 1921 bank debits were $7 ,5 5 2*0 0 0 ,0 00 , the increase
for the year amounting to $1 ,1 3 4 ,0 0 0 ,0 0 0 , or about 15 per c e n t ._ Increased^volraae of
debits is reported for all the leading centers, with the exception of Baltimore,
The largest relative increase, amounting to 35 Per cent, is shown for Pittsourgh;
Detroit showed an increase of 33 P®r cent, Cleveland of 24 per cent and Chicago of
16 per cent.
Debits to individual accounts were reported to the Federal Reserve Board for
banks in 237 centers, of which 159 are included in the summary by Federal reserve
districts.
