Debits to individual accounts, as r e p o r t e d by banks in leading cities for
the week ended December 18, aggregated $9,985,000,000, or 31 Per cent above the
total reported for the preceding week and 15 psr cent above the total for the cor­
responding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been m
ain>tained since January 1919 amounted to $9 ,319,000,000, compared with $7,038,000,000
the preceding week and $8,124,000,000 the week ended December 19 of last year.
