Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
week ended December 15, aggregated $9*679*000,000, or l6 percent above the total re­
ported for the preceding v e lc and 18 percent below the total for the corresponding
re
week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the ll+l cities for which a separate total has teen main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to £8,967,000,000, compared with $7 *65!+,000,000
the preceding week and < ll, 050,000,000 the week ended December 16. of last year.
