STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS B-S06 Federal Reserve Board August 26, 1933. Released for publication Sunday morning, Aug. 27; not earlier. BANK DEBITS Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by banks in leading cities for the week ended August 23, aggregated $5,876,000,000, or l4 per cent below the total reported for the preceding week and 7 per cent above the total for the corresponding weok of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $5,493,000,000, compared with $6,391,000,000 the preceding week and $5,105,000,000 the week ended August 24 of last year.
