RANK DEBITS

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for the
weelc ended August 21, aggregated $7,59^,000,000, or 15 per cent above the total re­
ported for the preceding weelc and 21 per cent above the total for the corresponding
veok of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $7,075,000,000, compared with $6,116,000,000
^he preceding week and $5,851,000,000 the weelc ended August 22 of last year.
