BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
August 22, 1936

Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities^for tne
week ended August 19, aggregated $7,806,000,000, or 4 percent above the totax re­
ported for the preceding week and 3 percent above the total for the corresponding
week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to $7,186,000,000, compared with $6,912,000,000
the preceding week and $ 7 , 051, 000,000 the week ended August 21 of last year.
