Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board "by
banks in leading cities for the week ending August 10, 19 27, aggregated
$12, 756, 000,000 or 7.1 per cent below the total of $13, 732, 000,000 reported for
the preceding week.

Total debits for the week under review are $981,000,000 or S .3 per cent
above those for the week ending August 11, 1926. Sew York City reported an in­
crease of $S59.000,000, Chicago $83,000,000, San Francisco $41,000,000, Philadel­
phia $37,000,000 and Boston *23,000,000. Declines of $20,000,000 each were re­
ported by :
' Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly sinco January 1919 amounted to $12,069,158,000, as compared with
12,984, 766,000 for the preceding week and $11,089, 717»000 for trie week ending
August 11, 1926.
