Bft.HK DEBITS—DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS

Bank debits as reported by banks in 333 leading centers for the month
of July aggregated 98,k8k million dollars* During the past three months total
debits for the same centers amounted to 306,8k5 million dollars or slightly below
the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York
City there was an increase of k per cent compared with the corresponding threemonths period a year ago, and at the 332 other centers there was a decrease of 3
per cent.
