BANK DEBITS

Board of Governors
of the Federal Reserve System
April 29, 1940

Debits to deposit accounts (except interbank accounts), as reported by
banks in leading cities for the week ended April 24, aggregated $8,517,000,000.
Total debits during the 13 weeks ended April 24 amounted to $108,502,000,000, or
6 percent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago.
