Foim FEK285 STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System BANK DEBITS Apri.1 2, 1938 For immediate release Debits to individual accounts , as reported by banks in leading cities for the week ended March 30, aggregated $7,146,000,000, or 7 percent below the total re ported for the preceding week and 24 percent below the total for the corresponding week of last year. Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main tained since January 1919 amounted to $6 , 575 , 000, 000, compared with $7,014,000,000 the preceding week and $8,689,000,000 the week ended March 31 of last year.
