Debits to individual accounts, as reported by banks in leading cities for
the week ended April 15, which
five business days in some of the reporting
cities, aggregated i*8,4o4,000,000. The total reported is approximately the same
as was reported for the preceding week and 6 percent above the total for the corres­
ponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been
maintained since January 1919 amounted to 17,811,000,000, compared with 37,790,000P00
the preceding week and $7,386,000,000 the week ended April 17 of last year.
