Debits to individual accounts, as reported to the Federal Reserve Board by
banks in leading cities for the week ended April 11, aggregated $7,840,000,000, or
3 per cent above the total reported for the preceding week, which included
five business days in some of the reporting cities, and 58 per cent above the total
for the corresponding week of last year.
Aggregate debits for the l4l cities for which a separate total has been main­
tained since January 1919 amounted to about $7»3^3.000,000, compared with
$7,094,000,000 the prGcoding week and $4,606,000,000 the week ended .April 12 of
last year.
