BANK DEBITS— DEBITS ID DEPOSIT ACOOUNTS, EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers for the week ended April 9
aggregated $8,811,000,000. Total debits during the 13 weeks ended April 9 amounted
to" $123 ,496 ,000 ,000 , or 14 per cent above the total reported for the corresponding
period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 10 per cent
compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and at the other reporting
centers there was an increase of 18 per cent.
