BANK DEBITS— DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS
Bank debits as reported by banks in leading centers for the week ended
April 8 aggregated # , 5 0 7 , 0 0 0 , 0 0 0 * Total debits during the 1J weeks ended April 8
amounted to $ 1 ^ 0 ,1+63 ,000,000, or lh per cent above the total reported for the
corresponding period a year a^o# At banks in New York City there was an increase
of 5 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago, and at the other
reporting centers there was an increase of 19 per cent*
