Debits to individual accounts,as reported to the Federal Reserve Board for
banks in leading cities for the week ending April 7, aggregated $1 3 , 36s ,000,000
or about one-half of one per cent less than the total of $1 3 , 43 7 ,000,000 reported
for the preceding week. New York City reported a reduction of $536,000,000,
Chicago - $76,000,000 and Philadelphia $19,000,000.
The principal increases
were as follows: Boston $102,000,000, New Orleans $47,000,000, Cleveland
<p42,000,000, Los Angeles $23,000,000 .and St. Louis $20,000,000.
As compared with the week ending April 8 , 1925, debits for ths week under
review are larger by $2,374,000,000 or 21.6 per cent.
Increases are shown for
nost of the more important centers, the largest increases being as follows:
New York City-$l,6l4,000,000, Boston .$151,000,000, Chicago $86,000,000, Cleveland
$66,000,000, San Francisco $53,000,000, New Orleans $46,000,000, Batroit
$43,000,000, Los Angeles $25,000,000,: and Newark and Philadelphia $22,000,000
each.
^Aggregate debits for l4l centers for which figures have been published
weekly Since January, 1919, amounted to $12,557,130,000, as compared with
$12,742,794,000 for the preceding week and $ 1 0 , 2 9 0 , 229,000 for the week ending;
April g, 1925 .

for Danks. in 258 centers, all of which are included in the sunanary by Federal
