COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans increased $351 million at weekly reporting

large commercial banks during the week, ended September 10,
The principal net increases were $264 million in loans to the mining
industry, which includes producers of petroleum and natural gas, $98 million to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products, and $75 million to manufacturers of
machinery.
The larger offsetting net decreases were $72 million in loans to services,
and $106 million to "all other" types of business concerns.
