RESERVE FEDERAL statistical •f*4L release st RE .* For Immediate release Hovember 9, 1966 ,.8.12 COMMERCIAL AMD IHDUSTRIAL L0AH3 OUTSTAHDIBQ EX INDUSTRY Comercial and Industrial loans Increased in ten districts and a net of " $196 Million at weekly reporting large comnerloal banks during the veek ended November 2. The principal net increases were $126 million in loans to retail trade, $96 million to transportation, communication, and other public utilities, $6$ million , to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products, and $55 million to commodity dealers. The larger offsetting net decreases were $60 million in loans to manufacturers * of machinery, and $62 million to unclassified borrowers. Outstanding loans and changes from a week ago and a year ago are shown below; cumulative changes since mid-year and during the comparable period last year are shown in the last two columns.
