F GOV*: FEDERAL I RESERVE release For Immediate r e l e a s e March 22, 1967 H. 12 COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $l,08l million at weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended March 15, reflecting quarterly tax date needs. All categories showed net increases except for nominal decreases in loans to commodity dealers, Foreign commercial and industrial loans, and manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products. The principal net increases were $257 million in loans to manufacturers of machinery, $102 million to manufacturers of chemicals and rubber products, $100 million to retail trade, and $100 million to unclassified borrowers.
