Commercial and industrial loans Increased in all districts and a net of $635 million
at weekly reporting member banks during the week ended February 17.
The principal net increases were $106 million in loans to petroleum refiners, $6l million to manufacturers of chemicals and rubber products, $59 million to manufacturers of machinery,
$55 million to retail trade, $49 million to manufacturers of textiles, apparel, and leather
products, $39 million to wholesale trade, $34 million to manufacturers of transportation equipment, and $109 million to unclassified borrowers.
