COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $320 million at
weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended December 1.
The principal net increases were $70 million in loans to "other"
public utilities,and $82 million to unclassified borrowers.

COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL TERM LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Total business term loans were $31,933 million as of November. This was
a decrease of $145 million over the comparable data a year ago and a decrease of
$436 million from the Wednesday in October.
The principal net changes were $127 million in loans to manufacturers of
chemicals and rubber products, $90 million to manufacturers of primary metals, and
$81 million to machinery.
The toal of all business term loans on November 24 represented
approximately 47 percent of business loans outstanding at large commercial
banks reporting in the series.
