COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $403 million at weekly
reporting large commercial banks during the week ended July 30.
The principal nets decreases were $63 million in loans to services, $50 million
to manufacturers of food, liquor and tobacco products, and $43 million to "other"
wholesale trade.
The larger offsetting net increases were $35 million in loans to "other"
public utilities and $33 million to foreign commercial and industrial loans.
