COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l loans i n c r e a s e d i n most d i s t r i c t s and a n e t of
$1?4 m i l l i o n a t -weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks d u r i n g t h e week ended August 12.
The p r i n c i p a l n e t i n c r e a s e s were $45 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o t h e c o n s t r u c t i o n
* i n d u s t r y , $31 m i l l i o n t o m a n u f a c t u r e r s of t r a n s p o r t a t i o n equipment, and $103 m i l l i o n
ยป to u n c l a s s i f i e d borrowers.
The l a r g e r n e t d e c r e a s e s were $31 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o r e t a i l t r a d e , $30 m i l l i o n t o " a l l o t h e r " t y p e s of b u s i n e s s concerns, and $23 m i l l i o n t o m a n u f a c t u r e r s of
machinery.
