COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $215 million at weekly
reporting member banks during the week ended March 30*
The principal net increases were $103 million in loans in hankers' acceptances,
and $73 million to transportation, communication, and other public utilities.
The largest net decrease was $39 million in loans to commodity dealers.
Outstanding loans and changes from a week ago and a year ago are shown below;
cumulative changes since year-end and during the comparable period last year are shown
in the last two columns.
