Home repair and modernization debt outstanding declined as is usual at this time of the w a r . On February 28 the total amount outstanding at banks was 32,447 million larger than a year earlier, reflecting gains in all major categories. The volume of instalment credit extensions on ncnautcmotive consumer goods registered a decline somewhat sharper than is usual in February., mere than offsetting the moderate gains shox?n by commercial bank' extensions of all other types of consumer instalment credit.
