FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

William J. Sneed has been appointed an Assistant Vice Presidenf of
the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

His appointment, made by the

Board of Directors of this bank, becomes effective September 1, 1976.
He succeeds Janes M. Geiger, who will effect regular service retirement
on September 1, 1976, under provisions of the Retirement System of the
Federal Reserve Banks.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mr; Sneed holds an Associates
Degree in Mechanical Technology from Washington University, St. Louis.
He joined the bank in August 1957, serving in the Purchasing Department,
left shortly thereafter to enter the U. S. Coast Guard, and returned to the
Purchasing Department in June 1959.

He joined the Building Department

of the bank in June 1960, serving in various capacities until he was named
Electrical Supervisor in October 1966.

In March 1972 "Bill" Sneed was

named Supervisor - Building Maintenance, and in January 1974 was
advanced to his pre sent position of Superintendent of Buildings.

As

Assistant Vice President, he will be in charge of the Building and
Protection Departments.
