St. Louis, Missouri, December 19, 1988 - John F. Breen has been promoted
to senior vice president and branch manager of the Little Rock Branch of
the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Bank president Thomas C. Melzer
announced today.

The promotion takes effect on January 1, 1989.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Breen joined the Memphis Branch of the
Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis in 1957 as assistant manager of the
Accounting Department.

He was promoted to assistant cashier in 1959.

Three years later, Breen was transferred to the Little Rock Branch as
cashier, and in 1965, was named vice president and branch manager at
Little Rock.

Breen earned a B.S. in business administration and an M.A. in management
and finance, both from Memphis State University.

He also studied at the

School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University.

The Eighth Federal Reserve District encompasses all of Arkansas and parts
of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi.
