FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Denis S. Karnosky has been promoted to the position of Vice President
of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

His appointment, made by the Board

of Directors of this bank, becomes effective June l, 1976.
A native of Litchfield, Illinois, Mr. Karnosky received a B. A. degree
in Economics from the Blackburn College, Carlinville, Illinois, a M.A. in
Economics from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, and a Ph.D.
in Economics from the Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.

In June 1967,

Denis Karnosky joined the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank as
an Economist, in July 1974 was named Senior Economist, and in September 1975
was appointed to his present position of Assistant Vice President.
As Vice President, Denis Karnosky will exercise supervision over the
Research Department.
