CURRENCY AID COIN BAGS

To All Banks in the Second Federal Reserve District:
Your attention is called to p a r agraph 36 of Operating Circular No. 3,
Revised N ovember 1 8 , 1970, which reads as follows:
"Empty currency and coin bags b e aring the names of other banks in
the Second Federal Reserve District, received b y us, are returned from time
to time, at our expense, to the banks whose names appear thereon.

It will be

appreciated if banks that receive our bags or bags of a U n i t e d States Mint
will return the empty bags to us b y parcel p o s t , after a small number have
accumulated.

Credit will be given for the cost of postage."

During recent months the availability of cotton bags has become
critical and their cost greatly increased.

Accordingly, we ask you r

cooperation in returning p romptly currency and coin bags be a r i n g our name
or that of a U n i t e d States Mint.
