Check Delays Resulting From Hurricane
Damage in the Virgin Islands

To All Depository Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

D ue to the dam age caused by Hurricane M arilyn in the V irgin Islands, and the clo sin g o f the
airports there, delays have occured in the presentm ent o f cash item s, in the return o f unpaid item s, and
in the forw arding o f advices o f nonpaym ent with respect to depository institutions in the V irgin
Islands. E ffe c tiv e im m ediately, and until such tim e as conditions perm it us to resum e presenting and
returning cash item s, this B an k will defer credit for item s w e identify as drawn on, or cash item s
returned to, depository institutions having routing num bers with 0 2 1 6 or 2 2 1 6 prefixes.
