fir FED ERAL R ESERVE B AN K O F N E W YORK January 14, 1972 Change in Distribution of New Cupro-Nickel Eisenhower Dollars To all Banks in the Second Federal Reserve District: As announced in our letter dated October 22, 1971, this Bank began distribution of the new cupro-nickel Eisenhower dollars on November 1, 1971. In order to assure an equitable apportionment of these coins, the initial distribution was made on an allotment basis to only one office of each bank requesting a supply of the coins. W e now have an adequate supply of the new dollar coins to enable us to distribute them without having to make specific allotments to each bank. Beginning January 17, we will accept orders from main offices and their branches for reasonable amounts of the new coins. In all other respects, orders for the new coins should be made in accordance with the procedures set forth in our October 22, 1971 letter. A lfred H ayes , President.
