Appointment of President of this Bank

To All Depository Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

The Board of Directors of this Bank has appointed E. G erald C orrigan President of the
Bank, effective January 1, 1985. He will succeed A nthony M. S olomon , who will retire on that
date, having reached mandatory retirement age after almost five years of distinguished service as
President of the Bank. The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System has approved the
appointment.
Mr. Corrigan has been serving as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis since
August 1980. He taught economics at Fordham University prior to his employment, as an
economist, with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1968. Mr. Corrigan was appointed an
officer of this Bank in 1972, becoming Vice President in 1976 and Senior Vice President in 1980.
His assignments at the New York Reserve Bank involved a broad range of responsibilities, including
economic research, open market operations, planning, and personnel.
Mr. Solomon has been serving as President of this Bank since April 1, 1980.
