The electio n o f directors to su cceed P e t e r D . K i e r n a n , class A
director, and J o h n R . O p e l , class B director, w h ose term s expire D ecem b er
3 1 , 1983, has b een duly held in accordance with the requirem ents o f se c ­
tion 4 o f the Federal R eserve A ct, as am ended, and the p rovision s o f Circular
N o . 9 5 7 1 , dated O ctober 2 5 , 1983.
The results o f the election are as follow s:
T. J o s e p h S e m r o d , Chairm an o f the B oard, U n ited Jersey B ank,
H ackensack, N. J . , w as elected by m em ber banks in Group 2 as a class A
director o f this Bank; and J o h n R. O p e l , Chairman o f the Board, Interna­
tional B u sin ess M ach in es C orporation, A rm onk, N . Y . , w as reelected by
m em ber banks in Group 2 as a cla ss B director o f this Bank. Each w as chosen
for a term o f three years b egin n in g January 1, 1984.
