FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF NEW YORK No. 8 9 4 5 [Circular November 3, 1980 B A H A M IA N P O ST A L M O N E Y O R D ER S To All Banks in the Second Federal Reserve District: By agreement between the United States Postal Service (USPS) and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, domestic (U.S.A.) Bahamian postal money orders will be accepted for payment by the USPS. Therefore, banks may deposit such money orders with us in the same manner as U.S. postal money orders. The USPS has informed us that the Bahamian postal authority has revised the color and format of its domestic postal money orders. Formerly, they were printed on plain blue paper. The new money order contains a seal and is printed on white paper stock with light blue lines. For your information, a photocopy of the revised format is printed on the reverse side of this circular. These revised Bahamian money orders are negotiable.
