FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
OF NEW YORK
I" Circular No. 801 "1
L August 29. 1927 J

Cash Department

New Counterfeit
To all Banks, Trust Companies and Others Concerned
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

The Treasury Department in its circular letter No. 597 describes a new
counterfeit as follows:
$10 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE; on the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta,
Georgia; series 1914; check letter " E " ; face plate No. 158, back plate No. 1311;
Frank White, Treasurer of the United States; A. W. Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury; portrait of Jackson.
This is a crudely etched production p**inted on a single sheet of paper, without
threads or imitations of them. This counterfeit is so poorly executed it should not
deceive anyone, the face of the note being very dark and smudgy, while the back is
very light and poorly printed. Specimen at hand bears serial number F23021133A.

Very truly yours,
BEN.J. STRONG,

Governor.
