Designation of Hearing Officer for
Armored-Car and Courier Services Hearing

in the Second F ederal R eserve D istrict:

Following is the text of a statement issued February 1 by the Board of
Governors of the Federal Reserve System:
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System today designated
John J. Clarke, Vice President and Special Legal A dviser at the Federal
R eserve Bank of New York, to conduct its hearing beginning February 10
on whether courier and armored-car ser v ic es are clo sely related to banking
under the 1970 amendments to the Bank Holding Company Act.
The Board on January 20 scheduled the hearing to commence at 10 a.m .
in Room 1202 of the Federal R eserve Building in Washington.
Correspondence relating to the hearing should be addressed to Mr.
Clarke at the Board's offices.
