FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
OF NEW YORK

Cash Department

TCircular No. 6881
|_ September 16, 1925J

New Counterfeit
To all Banks, Trust Companies and Savings Banks
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

The Treasury Department in its circular letter No. 564 describes a new counterfeit $10 National Bank Note as follows:

_

"On the Lackawana National Bank, Lackawana, N. Y., Series of 1902,
check letter ' D ' ; Chas. H. Treat, Treasurer of the United States; W. T. Vernon, Register of the Treasury; portrait of William McKinley.
"This counterfeit is printed from crudely executed plates apparently woodcut, on a single piece of paper without silk threads or imitation of them. All
the work on the bill is so poorly done that it should be instantly detected and no
more detailed description is considered necessary."

Very truly yours,
BENJ. STRONG,

Governor.
