FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF NEW YORK Fiscal Agent of the United States r Circular No. 6 7 7 8~l L August 9, 1971 Modification of Food-Coupon Deposit Requirement To A ll Commercial Banks in the Second Federal Reserve District: The requirement, contained in our Circular No. 6551, dated May 29, 1970, that redeemed food coupons should be deposited with this Bank only in packages of 100 coupons for each denomination has been modified. This Bank will now accept for deposit one odd-lot package (less than 100 coupons) of each denomination of food coupons per deposit. Accordingly, redeemed coupons need no longer be retained until 100 coupons of each denomination have been accumulated. Depositing banks should continue to sort redeemed food coupons according to denomination and to bundle them, where possible, in packages of 100. Each package of 100 coupons should be bound with a paper strap, and the dollar amount of the coupons enclosed in the package should be indicated thereon, together with the name of the depositing bank and the name and address of the office of that bank at which the package was prepared. If an odd-lot package is included in the deposit, it should be prepared in the same manner. All other provisions of Circular No. 6551 remain in effect. If you have any questions with regard to this modification, please contact the Coupon Division at our Head Office or the Food Coupon Section at our Buffalo Branch. A lfr ed H a yes , President . J
