The following statem ent was made public today by the T reasury Department:
SALE OF $2.5 BILLION JUNE TAX ANTICIPATION BILLS
The T reasury Departm ent today announced the sale of $2.5 billion of tax
anticipation bills which will m ature in June 1971.
The bills will be auctioned on Thursday, October 15, for payment on
Wednesday, October 21. Com m ercial banks may make payment for their own
and th eir c u sto m ers' accepted tenders by crediting T reasury tax and loan
accounts.
The bills will m ature on June 22, 1971, but may be used at face value in
payment of Federal income taxes due on June 15, 1971.

The public notice and the tender form s for this offering will be mailed
on Friday, October 9.
