To All Banks and Trust Companies in the
Second Federal Reserve District:
An authentic list of National banks, State banks, and trust companies in the Second
Federal Reserve District, which are members of the Federal Reserve System, is sent to you
herewith, together with their respective places of business and transit numbers.
The list is arranged alphabetically according to locality under four main headings
as follows:

On February 15, 1924 there were 694 National banks, 55 State banks, and 89 trust
companies or a total of 838 member banks in this district as shown in the table on page 20.
To insure a uniform policy in determining the number of member banks, banking institutions
are considered as members when payment of the subscription to capital stock has been received
by us, and not before. A bank liquidating or otherwise withdrawing from the System is
considered as having withdrawn on the date on which its subscription to the capital stock
is returned by us.
As occasion requires this list will -be revised, but for the present and until a revision is
necessary, appropriate blank spaces have been left for the addition of new names.

HP H E territory of the Second Federal Reserve
-*- District consists of the entire State of New
York, together with the twelve northerly counties
of the State of New Jersey, namely, Bergen,
Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union,
and Warren, and Fail-field County, Connecticut.
The territory assigned to the Buffalo Branch
comprises the ten westerly counties in New
York State as follows: Monroe, Livingston,
Allegany, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Cattaraugus, Niagara, Erie, and Chautauqua. Member
banks situated in the Buffalo .territory are
indicated in the list by the small capital letter B.
Member banks in Greater New York are listed
beginning at page 14.
