Appointment of Directors

To the Member Banks of the Second Federal Reserve District:

The B oard o f G overnors o f the F ederal R eserve System has redesignated P h i l i p D. R e e d
as Chairman o f the B oard o f D irectors o f this Bank and F ederal R eserve A gent fo r the year
1965. Mr. Reed, form er Chairman o f the B oa rd o f the General E lectric Company, New Y ork
City, served as a class B director o f the Bank in 1959. He has been serving as a class C
director o f this Bank and as Chairman and F ederal R eserve A gent since January 1960.

N. Case as D eputy Chairman fo r the

year 1965. Mr. Case, who is President o f the A lfre d P. Sloan Foundation, New Y ork City,
has been serving as a class C director since January 1961. A s D eputy Chairman, Mr. Case
succeeds James DeCamp W ise, form er Chairman o f the B oard o f B igelow -S anford, Inc., New
Y ork City, whose term as D eputy Chairman and as a class C director expires Decem ber 31,
1964. Mr. W ise has served as a class C director since January 1959, and as D eputy Chairman
since January 1961.
The B oa rd o f G overnors has also appointed J ames M. H ester as a class C director fo r
the three-year term beginning January 1, 1965. Dr. Hester, who is P resident o f New Y ork
U niversity, New Y ork City, succeeds Mr. W ise as a class C director.
The Board of Governors has appointed Robert S. B e n n e tt as a director of the Buffalo
Branch of this Bank for the three-year term beginning January 1, 1965. Mr. Bennett is General
Manager of the Lackawanna Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Buffalo, N. Y.

The Board of Directors of this Bank has appointed J. W a lla c e E ly and John D. H am ilton

as directors of the Branch for three-year terms beginning January 1, 1965. Mr. E ly is PresiĀ­
dent of the Security Trust Company of Rochester, Rochester, N. Y . ; on the Branch Board, he
succeeds E lm e r B. M illim an, President of the Central Trust Company Rochester N. Y.,
Rochester, N. Y . Mr. Hamilton is President of the Chautauqua National Bank of Jamestown,
Jamestown, N. Y . ; on the Branch Board, he succeeds A nson F. Sherman, President of The
Citizens Central Bank, Arcade, N. Y.
