FE D E R A L R E S E R V E BANK O F N EW YORK F iscal A g en t o f the U nited States r C ir c u la r N o . 4 8 0 6 T L N o v e m b e r 13, 1959 J TREASURY’S CURRENT EXCHANGE OFFERINGS Final Results To A ll Banking In stitution s, and Others Concerned, in the Second Federal E eserve D istrict: The follow in g statement was made public tod a y : The Treasury Department today announced the results o f the current exchange offering o f 4% percent one-year Treasury Certificates o f Indebtedness o f Series C-1960, and 4 % percent four-year Treasury Notes o f Series C-1963, both to be dated November 15, 1959, open to holders o f $7,710,556,000 o f 3 % percent certificates o f indebtedness o f Series E-1959 and $1,183,574,000 o f 3*4 percent Treasury Notes o f Series B-1959, both m aturing November 15. Subscriptions fo r the new issues amounted to $8,365,812,000, leaving $528,318,000 o f the m aturing issues fo r cash redemption. O f this amount $305,777,000 are the certificates and $222,541,000 are the notes. In addition, holders o f $1,683,438,000 o f the $2,000,387,000 o f 4 percent Treasury Notes o f Series B-1962, m aturing A ugust 15, 1962, but redeemable on February 15, 1960, upon giving notice o f intention to redeem not later than November 16, 1959, exchanged them fo r the new notes, making total exchanges fo r the 4 % percent four-year Treasury notes $3,012,390,000.
