New Counterfeit $2 Federal Reserve Bank Note
To all Banks, Trust Companies and Savings Banks
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

The Treasury Department in its circular letter No. 499 describes a new counterfeit $2 Federal Reserve Bank note as follows:

"**

"On the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; W. S. Elliott, Register
of the Treasury; John Burke, Treasurer of the United States; check letter
' D ' ; plate number indistinct, looks like 65; portrait of Jefferson.
"This is a poorly executed etched production on a single piece of paper,
red and blue ink lines being used to imitate the silk fiber of the genuine. The
number of the specimen at hand is B13319272A.

The general appearance

of this counterfeit should serve to readily detect it; therefore a more detailed
description is deemed unnecessary."
