P A Y M E N T OF UNITED STATES SAVINGS BONDS Submission of Paid Bonds to Federal Reserve Bank To all Incorporated Banks and Trust Companies in the Second Federal Reserve District Qualified to Make Payments in Connection with the Redemption of United States Savings Bonds: Banking institutions qualified to pay United States Savings Bonds should be guided by the following instructions relating to the submission of paid bonds to us for redemption: 1. All paid bonds on hand on the last business day of a month should he forwarded to us not later than the following business day. 2. Bonds paid by a qualified banking institution in different calendar months should not be listed on a single transmittal letter (Form Sav. B-28). All bonds paid in one month should be segregated from bonds paid in another month and listed on a separate transmittal letter. Savings bonds are charged to the account of the Treasurer of the United States according to the months in which they are paid to the owners, and it is therefore important that these instructions be followed carefully.
